More Cooking Experiments

So my most recent challenge was the Japanese root gobou (牛蒡:burdock).  It is quite delicious and food I definitely will miss.  But, I won't miss the scrubbing, peeling, and chopping of it!!

The results....  kinpiragoubo (braised burdock root with carrots) and iridofou (炒り豆腐), a sauteed tofu, egg, and vegetable dish that is in my opinion the Japanese "comfort food."

Burdock grows wild all over here! You won't need to miss it if you don't want - you'll just have to add digging it up to your list!
