Ever since I have moved to Japan, I have searched for a banana split -- to no avail!! So after 3.5 years, I finally decided to have an ice cream party and make my own. The purpose of the party was to welcome two new Christian ALTs, Lauren and Kathy, to the area. It was soooo fun to play hostess and introduce some of my favorite American traditions to my Japanese, New Zealand, and British friends. Along with the homemade hot fudge, caramel sauce, and brownies, we enjoyed several rousing games of Spoons and dying Easter Eggs (again!! I think it was the 364th egg I have dyed this year ;-)
